Panic in Boston

The month of September has not been kind to my hometown Red Sox so far. Out of the 19 games played so far in September the Red Sox have lost 14 of them decreasing their lead in the American League Wild Card from 11 games to 2. Every ESPN analyst is saying the Red Sox are in stage 5 panic mode with only 8 games left. The Red Sox have 3 games left against the Yankees and 5 more against the Orioles to end the season. I like our chances against the last place Orioles but only if our pitching can stop the bleeding, when you have three starting pitchers that have ERA's over 5 (Lackey, Wakefield, Weiland) pitching every other day it doesn’t give you much of a chance. When the season is wrapped up I can see the Red Sox clinching the American League Wild Card and facing the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS but only if the starting pitching steps up the last 8 games.
